Ashlyn and Brock have their birthdays just a day apart. It was fun having them share a birthday party. It was especially fun being part of Brock's 1st birthday! He was quite the show. Funny faces when he put his hand in his cake and didn't know what to think of that mess all over his hands. The confused look on his face when we were singing and as well as when he was to blow out his candle. Good thing for big brother Merrick to help blow out that candle!
Ashlyn loved that is was finally her birthday! She loves the thought of a "party". She was excited to share her special day with her favorite baby, Brock.
(pictures to come; there is some error when uploading the pictures. I've tried 4 times. I'm annoyed and need to try later)

Tis The Season
So many fun things to blog about this Christmas Season. Too many to count, really. Just a few things that made a mark in my memory are: snow, sledding, skiing, cold, Christmas lights, happy smiles, family, love, gift giving, cookie making, caramel making, caroling, red, apple green, dark green and cream Christmas tree, Santa's elf Felix that stayed at our house to be sure we were good, magical.
I love that my kids are still little so I can enjoy how magical Christmas can be. Their excitement was so great! Felix was a "real" elf that they had to put glitter on to keep him magic and feed him so he could be healthy. The excitement of Christmas Eve, that Santa would come down our chimney and leave gifts for us. I want to pause life sometimes, so I can live in those moments just a little bit longer so they can make an imprint in my memory forever.

Sing A Song Of Merry Christmas
Dylan wanted to sing in our churches childrens choir with his cousins. I told him at the beginning if he committed to it, he had to be there till the end. Of course, a couple weeks into practice (every Wed night for a couple months) he was wishing he hadn't signed up. He didn't put up too much fuss after reminding him of our "deal" in the beginning.
Right before Christmas they had a couple performances. They did such an amazing job! They helped fill the air with the Christmas spirit of Christ more so than I have felt in many years. Even Gavin and Ashlyn learned all the songs since they were at practice every week. We even had a CD of their songs and played it at home and in the car. We all sang along! It was kind of fun. Ashlyn still sings a few of them now and it's January.
As they sang, their sweet spirits seemed to get that Christmas spirit of Christ across more than any other choir that sang those nights. I'm really proud of Dylan and his cousins for sticking to it and helping me and all that listened remember our Savior and all that He has done for us.
